WORK

For this project, we need to make a 30 to 60 second abstract motion graphic.

This is a slide that outlines the production process.

First, I began by thinking about the visual style for this project. I decided to represent the philosophy of a historical figure through animation.
The philosophy I chose is Bruce Lee’s “Be water, my friend.”

These images represent ideas for the video I’m creating. They include a thumbnail concept, a possible book title image, visual references for water, and the overall color scheme.

After finalizing the visual concept, I moved on to creating the storyboard.

This is the storyboard that I drawn. Basically, the video is created by animating text and shapes.

For next step, I make a materials for using to the video. I make Bottle, teapot and cup images by Photoshop.

After I prepare all product for making video. I start to edit.

The Editing step,
I created short compositing files and produced motion graphic animations that correspond to each file name. In the end, the total number of short compositing files came to seven.

After I composed short compositing files, I start to combine them and make completed video.
Building on the insights from Projects 2 and 3, I organized the final compositing file to include only the short compositing files, making the file structure easier to understand. After applying all the effects, I reviewed the timing and made adjustments by editing the contents of the short compositing files where necessary, completing the final video.

This is the completed video.

REFLCETION

Through this project, I was once again reminded of how challenging motion graphics production can be. Unlike Projects 2 and 3, where I worked with existing brands and product images—making it easier to visualize and achieve a polished look—Project 4 required creating mostly original content, which made it harder to rely on pre-existing visuals. This meant that my current motion graphics skills were put fully to the test.

Creating a storyboard that fit both the project requirements and my skill level was particularly challenging and time-consuming due to the complexity of the theme. However, this difficulty pushed me to develop not only my technical abilities in motion graphics but also my problem-solving skills, such as how to leverage my existing knowledge and how to research new techniques beyond motion graphics.

Honestly, while I gave my all to this project, I am not yet fully satisfied with the final result. This experience has motivated me to continue learning and improving my motion graphics skills so I can create even better work in the future.
