WORK
Project 2 have a two things to submit.
Project 2A
For this assignment, we need to do color correction and color grading. A video of this assignment is available from the lectern.

For this assignment, we are required to adjust the brightness and color tones of three different video clips. Among the three scenes, we need to choose one as the main reference and match the brightness and color tones of the other clips to it. I chose Scene 1 as my main reference.
( Project 2A Editing screen 5 )
First, I started by adjusting the brightness of Scene 1 and Scene 3. In the two videos displayed in the top right of the screen, the left one is Scene 1 and the right one is Scene 3. Since there was a significant difference in brightness between Scene 1 and Scene 3, I mainly increased the Exposure value to adjust the overall brightness. Then, I fine-tuned the look by editing other parameters such as Shadows.

Next, I edited the colors of Scene 3 using Scene 1 as a reference. I used the eyedropper tool to sample the highlights and referred to the Lumetri Scopes on the left side of the screen to fine-tune the color tones.

Second step, I edit the scene 2. Scene 2 is darker compared to Scene 1 than Scene 3 was, so I increased the Exposure value more than before. Just like with Scene 3, I also adjusted the Shadow parameter to fine-tune the brightness. For the color tone, I referred to the Lumetri Scopes to match the overall color balance. Among the two images above, the first shows the brightness adjustment screen, and the second shows the color correction screen.

Finally, I used an Adjustment Layer to adjust the overall color tone and brightness of the video. First, I applied the RGB Curves to the layer to adjust the highlights and shadows. You can refer to the image above to see the exact values I used. Then, to give the entire video a bluish tone, I adjusted the Temperature setting towards the blue side.
Project 2B
For this work, we need to take a videos with group and edited by using skills learn from Project 2A.
First, we decide the rolls and I did the camera assistant.
These are videos that we took. Totally we took over 30 videos and selected from there. It was a lot of work, but fun, because the sound was not recorded properly, the camera position was a problem, and the actors made mistakes in their performances.
After we took videos, I start to edit it by using After Effect.
This is the editing screen in After Effect.
First, I positioned the video footage taken and the recordings. Some of the recorded audio clips didn’t include information about which scene or cut they belonged to, so it was a bit difficult to match them accurately with the video.
Second step, I edit the coloring. Here, I adjusted the brightness and color tones of the footage to make it closer to the reference.
Finally, I adjusted the overall color tone of the video. The completed audio is available below. ( I post YouTube link, because of file size.)
REFERENCE
Through Project 2A and 2B, I gained a deeper understanding of how to shoot and edit videos in a more cinematic way. During the editing process, I learned how to adjust brightness and color tones, work with layers, and create a cohesive overall visual style. These skills helped me understand how to make a video feel more polished and professional.
On the production side, I learned how to work as part of a team when filming, including how to adjust camera angles, plan shots effectively, and communicate with actors from behind the camera. Learning how to direct actors and give clear instructions was a new and valuable experience for me.
Although there were some challenges, I still found the project enjoyable and educational. It helped me build both technical and creative skills, and gave me more confidence in my ability to produce video content. I look forward to applying these skills in future projects and continuing to improve as a creator.
