WORK
For this task, we need to make two types of Walking Animation by 3D. One is Normal Walk and one is Attitude Walk.
First, I start to make a Normal Walking Animation.
This is the blender first editing screen.
( Blender Editing Screen 2 )
For first step of Normal Walking Animation, I edit poses of walking were created by manipulating ankle, arm, and wrist rigs.
( Blender Editing Screen 3 )
( Blender Editing Screen 4 )
Second step, I edited the rig from the foot movements to complete the foot animation for Walking Animation.
( Blender Editing Screen 5 )
Once the foot movements were edited, the arm, wrist, and hip rigs were manipulated to create the overall Walking animation.
The picture above shows the rig setting timing when the Normal Walking Animation is completed.
After completed the Normal Walking Animation, I start to make a Attitude Walk Animation.
For making Attitude Walk Animation, I created the Attitude Walk Animation as a derivative of the animation I created for the Normal Walking Animation.
( Reference of Attitude Walk Animation )
This is the image that I used for Attitude Walk Animation reference.
( Blender Editing Screen 6 )
This is the starting pose of Attitude Walk Animation. In the Attitude Walk Animation, I tried to create a happy, skipping animation, so the arm height and leg height are higher at the initial positioning than in the Normal Walking Animation.
( Blender Editing Screen 7 )
The procedure for creating the Attitude Walk Animation was the same as for the Normal Walking Animation, starting with the foot animation, followed by the arm and hip animations. The photo above shows the timing of the Attitude Walk Animation rig settings at the time of completion.
( Completed Animation )
This is the completed Animation of Normal Walking Animation and Attitude Walking Animation.
REFLECTION
In Project 1, I was introduced to the fun and excitement of creating 3D animation. Using the rigged character model “Snow,” I created a walking animation, which helped me understand the basic process of 3D animation production. It was both enjoyable and educational.
For the Normal Walking Animation, the class provided clear instructions and demonstrations. Thanks to that, I was able to learn the basics of creating character animation in Blender. Then, in the Attitude Walk Animation, I applied what I had learned and developed a bit more advanced animation skills.
Although it took me some time to get used to the tools at first, creating the normal walk went smoothly overall. Personally, I found the Attitude Walk Animation more challenging to make because it required a deeper understanding of character movement and emotion.
Through this project, I gained confidence in my basic 3D animation skills. I’m looking forward to improving even more in future projects, such as Project 2.
