WORK

Task 3 Story telling.

For this assignment, we need to pick up one popular fairy tail story and create 2-3 minutes Audiobook by using my voice and some sounds.

I chose Hanasaki-Jiisan. This is the one of famous story in Japan.

The PDF above contains the story of Hanasaki-Jiisan as well as the types of audio sources I thought would be necessary to complete this assignment, along with their respective links.

After writing this PDF, Ill start to record the voice by using AKG D5 mic. I also use Iztope RX10 for removing some noises.

After listening to the audio I recorded, I received advice during the lecture that using a compressor to eliminate volume differences and make the sound more consistent would make it easier to listen to. Additionally, since there were many breathing sounds, I was advised to select the necessary parts and reduce the sections where breathing sounds are present.

This is the editing screen of Adobe Audition. I use this application for making audiobook. Following the advice given during the lecture, I removed the breathing sounds and applied compression. Additionally, I paid attention to the volume of the background music and carefully considered the timing for inserting sounds such as the digging noise and the dog's bark. I ensured that the sound effects were placed at natural and seamless moments to avoid any sense of awkwardness.

After editing audiobook, Since the submission for this project included a video, I created a simple video using Adobe Premiere Pro.

Finally the completed video is below.

Through this project, I learned the importance of incorporating sounds that match the scenes. I realized that adding sound effects at just the right timing makes the audiobook much more enjoyable to listen to compared to simply reading the story aloud.
