WORK

Physical Action Sequence Animation.

We will use the character created in Project 1 to make a 5 to 10-second physical action sequence animation.

First, I make a Story Board for this assignment.

( Story Board 1 )
( Story Board 2 )

Those are the story board that I made. I came up with a story where the character is walking along the road, finds a beautiful stone, and jumps up with joy.

Those are images of editing screen in Adobe Animate. First, I make back screen and put the color. This back screen is for ground. And, Put character leg to the animation. The images above represent the part where the character is walking down the path and finds the stone. Simply moving the character's legs didn't convey the sense of walking clearly, so I placed some grass and made it move along with the character's footsteps. This helped to visually enhance the idea that the character is walking down the path.

Those are the clothes up animation of Stone. This is the point I personally think I did the best, where the character smoothly zooms in on the stone, and after a brief pause, the stone starts to glow. The animation clearly shows that the character has picked up the beautiful stone without any awkwardness.

And these are animations of the character jumping with joy. The creation of these animations was based on what I learned in the Animation Class Project 2B. I believe I successfully conveyed the feeling of the character firmly pushing off the ground and jumping with full effort.

( Completed Animation )

This is the completed Animation for the Final Project.

REFLECTION

Through this assignment, I learned the basics of creating animations. For someone like me who isn’t skilled at drawing, producing multiple scenes with animations, including zoom-ins and other effects, was incredibly challenging, even for a short piece. While I’m not entirely satisfied with the quality of the drawings, I’m really pleased with the animations themselves, as they turned out to be something I can be proud of.

Looking ahead, I think it would be interesting to deliberately divide frames for 3D models, as I learned in animation class, and create smooth 3D animations with a stop-motion-like effect. I’m excited to apply what I learned from this final project to create various types of animations in the future.
