WORK
Task 2 Auditory Imaging.
For this task, we need to create story using only sound effects.
This PDF contains the storyline I created, along with details of the required sounds and URLs for downloading the audio sources.
In the story I created, I expressed the daily life of the protagonist, who is a high school student, through sound alone.
This is the editing screen in Adobe Audition. When I added the necessary sound effects, the final length of the audio became 2 minutes and 50 seconds, and the number of sound sources used was 24.
I adjusted the faders for these sound effects, raised and lowered the volume to ensure there were no noticeable volume differences between each sound source and that the volume of the sound effects was balanced. If necessary, I used EQ to help create a clear image of the story using only the sound effects.
(Completed Work)
The above sound sources is the completed work.
In this project, I learned the importance of sound effects. Even without verbal explanation, sound effects alone can convey a story, highlighting just how crucial they are. I also realized how much information people can gain from sound.
The only difficult part of the assignment was searching for the specific sound effects I needed, but other than that, I really enjoyed the process of developing a story that could be communicated through sound effects alone. I also enjoyed considering the order and steps of combining sound effects, and applying necessary effects like EQ and reverb to improve the overall quality. The whole process of creating the assignment was very enjoyable.
In future classes, I would like to continue learning about the handling and importance of sound effects.
