LECTURES

Week1: The lecture explain about the 3D modeling class MIB.

Week2: The lecture teach us blender's basic operation and show how to make materials by using blender.

Week3:

EXERCISE

Exercise1: Modeling from primitive objects.

In this exercise, I need to make object such as train, snowman, robot etc. that can be simplified as a combination of primitive shapes. And, I tried to make train.

(The editing screen 1)

First, I make a the foundation for the train.

(The editing screen 2)

Second, I put the train body on the foundation. I used a cylinder and a cube. In this phase, I used Modifiers function and drill square hole to the cube. This cube show the train's cockpit.

(The editing screen 3)

And next step, I put 4 circle for train's tire.

(The editing screen 4)

After that, I made roof for control room and chimney. I created the roof from a cylinder shape by going into edit mode and deleting vertices. As for the chimney, I used a circle and employed Blender’s extrusion feature to create a pillar, which I then edited to complete the chimney.

(The editing screen 5)

At the fifth step, I designed front of the train.

(The editing screen 6)

At the end, I colored the train by black, yellow and red. I chose the color scheme with the image of old steam locomotives that once existed in Japan.

In this exercise, cutting out the windows and creating the chimney were challenging tasks for me. When cutting out the windows, I couldn't find the tool I needed, so I ended up clicking around to search for it. As for the chimney, I tried creating a plane or a cylinder, but every time I used the function, it generated the cylinder at an angle, and I couldn’t get it to align straight.
It took me about 4 to 5 hours to complete, but it was a very educational exercise.

Exercise 2 : Cylinders Modeling.

For this task, I will model pet bowls, plates, containers, and other items in Blender.

These are the image of 3D model that I make for this assignment. I make one pet bottle, a bottle and plate. I use cylinders and I used the extrude function, scale function, and bevel edge function.

Exercise 3 : Box Modeling

For this exercise, we need to make a car modeling.

This is the model that I made. First, I make a car's body. After that, make a box for riding space, make tyre and put items example light, number plate etc...

Exercise 4 : Kerambit modeling

This work, we need to make a knife by using Blender.

First, I make circle part.

And for next step, I create handle part. To create a smooth curve, I pressed the D key and made numerous fine adjustments. Making a perfect curve was quite challenging.

At the end step, I modeled knife part. Modeling the blade to make it look truly sharp and smoothing it out was quite challenging.

REFLECTION

Through Exercises 1 to 4, I learned the basic usage of Blender. Overall, I enjoyed creating works that I was satisfied with. Additionally, the way the instructor delivered the lectures was excellent, and it was helpful to be able to ask questions whenever I didn't understand something. I plan to apply the foundational knowledge of Blender that I gained from these exercises to tackle future assignments.
