LECTURE NOTES

Week5 - Week6

The film size is big so I posted to Youtube.

(The Editing Screen)

In editing the video, I was reminded of the importance of the click sound at the beginning of the shoot. By sounding the sound, it became very easy to match the video and audio.

Week7

Project 2A

Finish the colour grading and upload the video to YouTube.

Edit the videos Learned how to adjust video brightness color tone from Week 7 class slides and shared videos, and actually edited them. The version of Premiere Pro used in the video was different from the current version, and the control panel was in a different location. So, I had to look it up on Google to find the location of the control panel. In this assignment, adjusting the brightness was particularly difficult, and as I repeatedly made fine adjustments, my eyes became accustomed to it and I sometimes lost track of the correct brightness.

The completed video can be viewed at the Youtube link above.

Project 2B

Make a TikTok/Insta Video.

I decide to make a cooking video for this project. And I cooked Japanese curry rice. The link of video that I made is below.

First, I wrote video proposal.

In here, I wrote out a brief idea of the structure of the video to be created.

After take videos for this project, I edited by using Adobe Premiere Pro.

In the editing part, I shorted the length of the cooking videos first. Before editing the video, the total cooking time, including 20 minutes of preparation and 30 minutes of cooking, is 50 minutes. I sped up the preparation segment 1000 times and the cooking segment 1500 times, resulting in both segments being approximately 20 seconds long.
Additionally, I adjusted the brightness and color tone of the videos and photos used in the video to ensure they were set to visually pleasing values. I edited them so that the brightness and vibrancy remained consistent from start to finish.
In the third step, I added text to the video to explain the cooking steps. I set the display time of each sentence to a duration that felt just right after reading it myself.
Additionally, I chose background music for the video that evokes a sense of excitement.

Finally, I upload the completed video to Instagram. Initially, the video upload didn’t go smoothly, and I spent about an hour researching and trying various methods. Despite this setback, I was eventually able to upload the video successfully.
