LECTURES

Week 1:

Offline class. Introduction class. Teacher teach us what we learn at this class by photoshop. And we choose 3 pictures from pinterest and write the reason "why did you choose those graphic design pictures" to the google document for teacher know what design we like.

Week 2:

Online class. Explanation about collage, About the human gaze in art and etc... we watch the video about that. And then we watch how to make collage.

Week 3:

Offline class. Glue the collage to the background from your idea that think last week. I learned the difference between advertising and art. It's the same until you use letters, but if you use the company name etc. it becomes an advertisement.

Week 4:

Offline class. I learned how to make collages using Photoshop by watching the videos that were supposed to be shown in the third week's class and the videos for the fourth week. The teacher also taught us how to make collages using Photoshop. In this week's class, we learned how to use the Pen tool to crop images and edit the brightness and contrast of photos.

Week 5 (Received in 6th week):

Offline class. I learned how to combine a photo of a person, a photo of the background, and different photos. 

Week 6:

Offline class. Teacher lecture us how to recolor the monochrome picture by using Photoshop. 

Week7:

Offline class. The lecture teach us about "Double Exposure"."Exposure". And then he decide the date of assignment submission dates up to week 7. 

Week9:

Offline class. The teacher teach us what is Surrealism. And then explain about this week assignment. 

Week10:

Offline class. Took the photos necessary for the production of Task 2.

Week11:

Online class. Lecture had the work corrected for Task 2 that we created.

Week12:

Online class. The teacher checked the final assignment and corrected the student's work as requested.

Week13

Work (Week1)

Chose 3 pictures from pinterest. And write the reasons.

Work (Week2)

Create 3 or more types of collage ideas. And take photos.

Glue your collage idea to the background.

In the end, I changed the design a little and improved the design from what looked like an advertisement to more like art.

Make 3 collages and edit brightness and contrast one of the three you created.

(1): It depicts goldfish swimming above the mysterious sky. The image at the top right of the work is the image of the moon.

(2): It was created with the image of the taiji diagram used by the Japanese Onmyoji profession.

(3): Created with the image of a goldfish in a mysterious whirlpool.

I chose (1) and edit one is below.

The colors have been adjusted to more clearly express the mysterious feeling. In particular, I was careful about the colors of the orange and gray shapes used for the sky part so that they were neither too dark nor too bright.

Work (Week5)

The break down. Composite a Shazam photo and a background-only photo using Photoshop. And also after once you have done that, you should now composite your photo with the background.

Work (Week6)

Recoloring Black and White. First, recolor exercise1. After that, do exercise2, use the same image as in the lecture and color it. Third, choose one of the photos in Google Drive and color it in the same way.

It was difficult to color the hair because it was difficult to cut. And I worked hard to find a good color for my lips that looked natural.

Second one is the original picture that I recolored and below that pictures are the one I used to selecting the color. Similarly, it was difficult to cut the hair so thats why it was difficult to color the hair. It was also difficult to see the color of her teeth, which were visible through her slightly parted lips.

But, the teacher said my own version is not the correct answer to the problem. So, I made new one.

Work (Week9〜11)

Conceptual product photoshoot. Search manipulation and make your mock up.

First step, Search.

Second, Sketch.

I draw three sketches for task2. Wallet + Phone, Wallet + Animal tail and Watch + Coin.

I made Phone + Wallet and Watch + Coin mock up. In particular, for Idea2, we worked hard to make sure the edges of the coins fit perfectly on the watch.

Finally, I submitted Idea2 picture.

Work (Week 10〜13) : Final

First, I converted the above photo to a pixel image.

Combine the original image and the pixel image half and half.

Apply effects to the entire image and half of the image, and add text.

Finally, use colored brushes to brightly color the design.

And I made this image into a video.

The most difficult part of creating the final task was turning the original photo into pixel art. If you make the pixel size too large, you won't be able to tell what kind of photo it is, and if you make it too small, it won't look like pixel art, so it was difficult to get the size just right. For the movie edit, most difficult is editing colored circles to look like fireworks. It was difficult to edit each item by repeatedly expanding and contracting them at different times.

RFLECTION

In this class, I learned the basics of how to use Photoshop and applied it to create works. Through this class, I was able to learn the difference between art and design, realize that what I create is similar to the design of advertisements, etc., and was able to create works while thinking about what my own style of art is. Both design and art are still in the process of development, so I would like to improve my skills by incorporating various things in future classes, and even though it is not related to the class, I will also create works of art.
